Results
So now that I'm getting into Insanity a bit I really want to post my results. I started taking pictures every day but I leaned against that as our bodies change so much on the daily so I've been doing weekly pictures. I'll be posting my week 1 - 2 results here soon when I can get over the FAcT of how I let myself get out of shape.

Not seeing results right away? DOMS
Delayed OnSet Muscle Soreness or DOMS
DOMS (wiki) is your body saying I'm recovering. It is the soreness you feel when you first start a new workout. Basically the body goes into repair mode. Swelling, and water retention is very common here which can make it appear that you aren't losing weight when you really are. Your body does this to protect the muscle to prevent any injury, increased tearing, and aid in recovery.
Not everyone will drop those 5-10 pounds after starting a new workout. This is with any workout including Insanity, P90x, marathon training, etc. I only saw a brief stint of the no weight loss period so for me it wasn't a big deal. You have to STICK WITH IT. Don't give up because when your body is recovered and adapted you will be surprised as to how much you will lose. It will take time, measure your body by inches not pounds.
Being on the health roller coaster for several years I've worked out with a number of different people. The ones who are affected most by this are normally self conscious people and women. Stick to your guns, don't give up and you will see. Trust your trainer, your diet, and most importantly yourself. The results will come in. I've seen DOMS affect weight for 2-3 weeks after starting a new program then suddenly 10-15 pounds just disappear without warning.
Also, you don't have to 'feel' sore for you to be affected by this. So if you are working out, feeling good, but you still aren't seeing results...They will come! As long as you are giving it the proper effort and sticking to your diet, give it time and you'll be surprised.
Be consistent, be smart, and trust yourself.
Friday Morning Protein Shake
I made a shake this morning with a little boost to help get me through the day.
Vanilla Whey Protein, Soy Milk, a touch of Chocolate, a little Coffee and bam Cappuccino shake! Skip that morning starbucks for something healthier, cheaper, and in my opinion...tastier!
Enjoy!

Those last reps...
When working out it seems like the last reps are the hardest to complete. They are also the most important. If you don't feel like you can do them have your spotter help you lift those last reps or press pause on the DVD to take a small rest. Finishing strong sets you up for success. It helps build the strength and endurance you need to finish strong(er) next time.
Be patient, be strong, get stronger.

Protein Shake of the Day
Almond Milk, Chocolate Whey, Peanut Butter, Banana, and Ice.
This was a delicious mock up of the daily choke down of your protein. It adds in extra nutrition that is healthy and is lactose free.
Do it!
Dig Deep!
I'm currently doing Shaun T.'s Insanity program by beachbody. I started out at 216 (6'4) and in 9 days I'm getting close to dropping under 200. I'm very happy with the results, the workouts, and his motivation.
Key #1 to my success thus far is my diet. Diet is 60-70% of your success, the rest lies in actually working out and keeping yourself honest. Keep a strong diet, and your success will further.
Go get 'em!
Welcome!
I'm creating this blog to keep myself and anyone else honest about their fitness and diet. I'm not a fitness guru, genius, or anything special. I am just someone who likes to keep myself motivated and help others.
I'm an IT guy who sits at a desk 8+ hours a day which makes it difficult to stay fit. Everyone in my department eats out on the daily and constantly bring in donuts (guilty pleasures) weekly. I was a high school athlete (days are long gone) and wish to be above the curve. I see people in my age group (27) and most of them are unfit and eat more than I would ever imagine in the buffet line.
I'm here to post hopefully daily quick motivational snippets and what I'm thinking so hopefully keep myself honest and keep you honest.
Feel free to post comments, I love interacting, discussing, and debating.
